Seven men were selected for their significant industry contributions as inductees to the Plastics Hall of Fame. The honorees were Richard B. Bishop, Raymond F. Boyer, Charles Condit, Charles Gatto, George A. Kruder, Roger S. Porter and Fred Schwab.
ICI Australia's film division sold its 4-acre Brisbane, Australia, plant to Beaver Plastics of Melbourne, Australia, a subsidiary of Corporation Australia Pty. Ltd., a manufacturer of polyethylene film and bags.
Polymont Plastics Corp. said it would establish the first plastics recycling plant in Calgary, Alberta. The company expected to collect and granulate 550 tons of plastic waste a month when the plant reached full capacity.
