CHICAGO — The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. will have more on its mind during NPE than new resins and machines. Industry injury concerns also will be addressed in a series of occupational safety and health workshops. Washington-based SPI, with help from the National Safety Council, will present five workshops.

Safety Training Techniques That Work, 1 p.m. Tuesday.
OSHA's Lockout/Tagout Standard, 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Machine Guarding in the Plastics Industry, 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Occupational Health Exposures in the Plastics Industry, 1 p.m. Thursday.
Registration for the workshops is still open. Costs are $190 for one session, or $155 each for two or more sessions. The workshops will be held in Room 231 of the North Hall of Chicago's McCormick Place.
