They're only a handful against 75,000, but a group of Greenpeace activists brave the odds, hoping to provide ammunition to those plastics industry insiders who might like to see the demise of PVC. The protesters — including one pe rson dressed as a green owl — pass out a ``Poison Plastics News'' flier to NPE attendees at the main entrance of Chicago's McCormick Place. Reaction was mixed to the demonstrations Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Greenpeace's Chicago-based campaigner, Charlie Cray. Cray said some show-goers were interested in what Greenpeace had to say — mostly PVC competitors who wouldn't mind seeing PVC phased out.
