If your taxi driver during Chicago NPE week was smiling, as Sylvester Aruya of Blue Ribbon Taxi is here, you might have AlliedSignal Plastics to thank. The firm's ad agency, USA Chicago hatched a plan to get Windy City cabbies to sport white AlliedSignal baseball caps and dispense receipts printed with AlliedSignal's NPE booth numbers and Web site address. The incentive: Pick up the right ``mystery passenger'' (i.e. an AlliedSignal or USA Chicago official) while wearing the cap, present the provided receipt and earn a cool, crisp $100 bill. The company said it distributed more than 5,000 hats to cabbies, and was handing out thousands in greenbacks.
THAT'S ONE HELLUVA TIP
