CHICAGO — Specialty compounder RTP Co. will begin production in early 1998 at a facility in Indianapolis, the company announced at NPE 1997 in Chicago.
The new location will target numerous end markets and will draw principally on work now being done at RTP facilities in its headquarters city of Winona, Minn., and South Boston, Va. Other RTP sites are located in Fort Worth, Texas; Dayton, Nev.; and Beaune, France.
Hugh Miller, RTP chief executive officer, said having fully equipped facilities throughout the United States has bolstered its relationships with customers.
RTP will establish a full production facility with extrusion and blending equipment and a color laboratory. Initially, the plant will employ 20-30 in Indianapolis.
The company is reconfiguring 110,000 square feet in three leased buildings to accommodate the operation. RTP employs 500, produces more than 5,000 custom formulations and has sales of more than $100 million.
