CHICAGO — Flexicon Corp.'s new lift-and-seal drum dumper automatically forms a gasketed connection between the drum and receiving vessel to prevent dusting, said the Phillipsburg, N.J.-based firm. Flexicon exhibited the product at NPE 1997 in Chicago.
It features a discharge cone inlet that seats against the drum and an outlet spout with a slide gate valve that seats against the inlet port of the receiving hopper.
The firm's programmable bulk-bag weigh-batch discharger conveys material from bulk bags to processing equipment in pre-selected amounts by weight. It is mounted on four load cells that transmit loss-of-weight data to a controller, which stops the conveyor once a predetermined batch weight has been unloaded.
