CHICAGO — Nissei ASB Machine Co. Ltd. exhibited two new PET molding machines at NPE 1997 in Chicago.
The PB 170/280-32/8M made its debut as Nissei's latest integrated machine making PET bottles. It produces 2-liter carbonated soft drink bottles at about 5,000 per hour and uses a 32-cavity preform molding station and an eight-cavity stretch blow molding station. The machine is a larger model of the PB 170/110-32/8, which was introduced in 1996.
With the PB series of machines, PET material is fed from the right side, and bottle takeout is from the left. The machines can be divided into units for transportation, installation and maintenance. Mold parts are standardized and the hot-runner system is compatible with all mold sets, making mold manufacturing and changing easier.
The PF 6-2B made its North American debut at NPE as the latest version of the firm's PR series of integrated machines for making PET bottles. It produces one-half-liter oval bottles at 1,500 per hour. Nissei of Komoro, Japan, has U.S. headquarters in Atlanta.
