CHICAGO — AEC Inc.'s Application Engineering Division introduced a line of integrated central chillers at NPE.
A six-person team had worked since September to develop the Pinnacle series central chilling station, which is available with refrigeration capacity of 30-90 tons, according to Kevin McJoynt, marketing manager.
The system includes independent refrigeration circuits with scroll compressors, oversized pumps, an integral stainless-steel tank and an overall footprint that is ``the smallest in the industry,'' according to McJoynt.
The Pinnacle offers rotational technology instead of reciprocating, and costs $31,000-$53,000 for the basic models.
The standard scroll compressors upgrade refrigeration and electrical efficiency and use half the moving parts of conventional compressors, the company said.
An off-the-shelf programmable logic controller microprocessor improves temperature control and records and collects system diagnostic information.
An intuitive color touch screen leads the user through menus of screens for all operating systems.
The stainless-steel reservoir is integrated onto a single perimeter-welded frame.
