HOUSTON—Exxon Chemical Co.'s 529 million-pound polypropylene expansion opened June 17 in Baytown, Texas.
The expansion brings Houston-based Exxon's total North American PP production to 1.6 billion pounds annually.
The line is expected to free up more capacity for Exxon's Achieve-brand metallocene PP, North American PP manager Mark Dickerson said in a prepared statement.
Exxon operates a similar line in Notre Dame de Gravenchon, France, and has plans for a third such plant in Singapore. The Singapore plant will produce 605 million pounds of PP annually.
