Henry CHICAGO RIDGE, ILL. — Henry J. Landis, co-founder of Landis Plastics Inc., died Aug. 5 at the age of 91.
Landis founded the Chicago Ridge maker of plastic wall tiles in 1954 with his son. The firm now has five U.S. molding facilities and says it is the leader in thin-wall injection molded packaging. The company was 29th in Plastics News' recent ranking of North American injection molders, with sales of $126 million.
Landis, who resided in Palos Heights, Ill., died at home.
He is survived by his son, Henry Richard, who heads Landis Plastics; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
