LONDON — Leaders of Britain's plastics industry have chosen Ron Marsh, chief executive officer of packaging maker RPC Group plc, to head the British Plastics Federation. Peter Davis was named director general of the London-based association, replacing Ron Jones, who is retiring after nine years in the post.
Marsh, 46, has been CEO of Raunds, England-based RPC Group since 1989. RPC, which manufactures a range of closures, bottles and other containers, operates 19 plants in seven countries.
Marsh, who has been on the BPF council for nine years, succeeds Michael Anderson, managing director of plastic packaging company Linpac Plastics Ltd. of Knottingley, England.
Davis has been chief executive officer of Britain's Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment since 1993, and is vice chairman of the European Organisation for Packaging and the Environment.
Six new BPF council members also were elected: Richard Milner-Moore, DSM UK Ltd. managing director; Jim Jeffries, managing director of Barlocher UK Ltd.; Shaun Bokor, managing director of Uponor Ltd.; Jeremy Stoke, Vector Plastics Division CEO; John Denning, Durapipe S&LP marketing director; and Hugh Smith, managing director of Moulded Foams Wales Ltd.
