ANAHEIM, CALIF. — RXI Plastics, a division of RXI Holdings Inc., moved its headquarters to Valencia in September from Sun Valley, Calif., and is adding four extrusion blow molding machines as part of its corporatewide plans for expansion.
The firm, which exhibited at Westpack, held Sept. 23-25 in Anaheim, now operates 17 Bekum and BMW machines in its 130,000-square-foot plant. Company officials would not disclose the amount invested in the plant or equipment.
The plant, one of six in the United States, employs 130 and plans to add injection blow molding and stretch blow molding capability. The firm's plants are in Houston; Cape Jirardeau, Texas; Ottawa, Ohio; Triadelphia, W.Va.; and Richmond, Va. The company has a total of about 120 blow molding machines and 2,000 employees.
RXI molds high and low density polyethylene, polypropylene, PET and PVC for industries such as food, automotive, chemical and agricultural.
Last year, RXI ranked 21st in Plastics News' survey of North American blow molders, with estimated sales of $73.3 million.
