DETROIT — Awards for the most-innovative uses of plastics in the automotive industry will be handed out Nov. 12 at the annual Society of Plastics Engineers Automotive Division Awards.
The ceremony, which will take place at the Westin Hotel in Detroit, is billed as the largest competition of its kind in the world. More than 1,000 plastic-related auto parts are vying for honors in such categories as body interior, exterior, chassis and hardware, powertrain, materials, process and environmental. A Hall of Fame award also will be given.
Money raised at the event will be used to fund SPE scholarships and technical seminars. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend.
