MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO — DuPont Canada Inc. completed an expansion last month of its modified polymers operation at Corunna, Ontario, by installing a fourth twin-screw extruder.
The Mississauga company spent about C$5 million (US$3.6 million) on the project. A new reactive extruder from an undisclosed supplier boosts overall capacity by 25 percent and highly engineered materials capacity by about 50 percent.
The Corunna facility manufactures such products as adhesives for food packaging layers, plastics tougheners and compatibilizers, and corrosion-resistant coatings.
The expansion follows a capacity boost there in 1996.
