MARIETTA, GA. — American Engineered Plastics Manufacturing Inc. set up a new distribution facility in Marietta last month.
Branch manager Chris Knodle said his firm chose Marietta because it is closer to most customers than American Engineered's Lexington, N.C., plant. The 8,000-square-foot Marietta facility doubles the 14-year-old company's ability to serve customers, the firm said.
Privately held American Engineered manufactures cast nylon 6 sheet, rod and tube in Lexington and provides machining and other fabrication services. It supplies sheet as thick as 4 inches, rod from 2-12 inches in diameter and tubing from 2-12 inches in outside diameter. It said it specializes in custom cast rings as large as 72 inches in diameter. Knodle said affiliated companies make acetal and other engineering resin shapes also offered by American Engineered.
