CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Innovative Displays, a division of Piedmont Plastics Inc., is moving, adding thermoforming capability and changing its name to the Fabrication Division of Piedmont Plastics.
Piedmont will invest $4.7 million in a new, 57,600-square-foot plant, thermoforming machines and a five-axis computer numerically controlled router.
The unit had been housed in 18,000 square feet in another building. The new plant can be expanded to 140,000 square feet.
The fabrication operation will relocate to the plant early next year.
Piedmont, based in Charlotte, distributes plastic sheet, rod and tube from 13 sites in the East and Southeast.
The Fabrication Division makes products for the retail, recreational vehicle and transportation markets.
