COMPOSITE STRUCTURES INTERNATIONAL INC. — The Dallas manufacturer of molded and pultruded fiberglass-reinforced plastic products named Marty Mauer vice president of sales and marketing. Wendell Hollingsworth was promoted from plant manager to director of operations, and corporate engineering manager Kenneth Berg was promoted to director of corporate engineering.
ESSEX PLASTICS INC. — The Pompano Beach, Fla., film producer appointed Dale Gange to the newly created position of technical director.
JOHNSON CONTROLS INC. — The interiors supplier's Automotive Systems Group named Rande Somma president for interior trim, marketing and new products. He continues to manage the Plymouth, Mich.-based company's Honda business and also will head operations in Japan. James Pell was named group vice president and general manager of the firm's worldwide component operations. He spent the last year as president of Schmalbach-Lubeca Plastic Containers USA Inc., a Manchester, Mich.-based company formerly owned by Johnson Controls.
LEAR CORP. — Patrick Burke was named vice president of sales and business development at the Southfield, Mich., supplier of auto interior systems. Paul Taaffe was named the firm's vice president of finance for Europe.
LIQUI-BOX CORP. — C. William McBee was named president and chief operating officer of the Worthington, Ohio, blow molder. He had been vice president of manufacturing and administration.
MACK MOLDING CO. — The board of directors of the Arlington, Vt., injection molder promoted four senior executives in two of the company's divisions. Bill Cooley was promoted from vice president of northern operations to president of the northern division, which comprises facilities in Arlington, Cavendish and Pownal, Vt. Ray Burns, formerly vice president and general manager of southern operations, is now president of the southern division, which has facilities in Inman, S.C., and Statesville, N.C. Jeff Somple was promoted from director of sales and engineering of northern operations to vice president of sales and engineering for the northern division. Rick Bentzinger, formerly director of human resources for the northern operations, was promoted to vice president of human resources for the northern division.

SILVER-LINE PLASTICS CORP. — The Asheville, N.C., extruder of PVC and polyethylene pipe and tubing products appointed Ricky C. Silver president and chief executive officer. The company was founded in 1962 by Charles J. Silver and his father, Charlie Rome Silver. Ricky C. Silver, who joined the company in 1992, is the son of Charles J. Silver. He also is president of the Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association, a trade organization representing industry manufacturers in the United States and Canada.
