BRAMPTON, ONTARIO — Brampton Engineering Inc.'s joint venture in India has shipped its first blown film line to a processor in that country.
Mamata Brampton Engineering Pvt. Ltd. of Ahmedabad, India, built a two-layer film line for Propack Industries.
Propack, based in Daman, India, manufactures laminating film.
Propack will extrude blends of low and linear low density polyethylene, Brampton said in a news release.
Officials did not disclose the cost of the line.
Brampton formed the joint venture with Mamata Machinery Pvt. in March, Viraj Trilokekar, area salesman for Brampton, said in a telephone interview from his firm's headquarters in Brampton. The joint venture is focusing its sales efforts on India for now, he said.
Mamata Brampton built most of the new line.
However, Brampton said it supplied some components, such as a 300-millimeter streamlined coextrusion die and a 300mm Uniflo dual-lip air ring.
The new line has two 65mm extruders, brushless direct-current drives and a 1,350mm oscillating haul-off.
