WHITBY, ONTARIO — Nemato Composites Inc. expects to be in production in an 11,000-square-foot expansion of its 44,000-square-foot Whitby plant by mid-March.
The expansion, according to President Robert Yeates, cost US$400,000.
The company's chief products are large fiberglass-reinforced plastic solvent extraction tanks, which are used in the mining industry around the world.
The 10-year-old, closely held company has about 70 employees. It also produces custom FRP items and odor-control covers used in the waste-water industry, Yeates said.
Nemato also makes and markets a proprietary line of grating products, duct and well pipe.
