FITCHBURG, MASS. — Fresh off signing a nonexclusive agreement to market Chen Hsong Holdings Ltd. injection presses from Hong Kong, Fitchburg-based CenterLine Automation Inc. is planning a move to a bigger facility this year.
CenterLine is providing sales, spare parts and service for Chen Hsong through a 24-hour hotline, according to CenterLine President Clifford Robson. The company is handling Chen Hsong's JM MK-3 series of presses, with clamping forces of 25-3,000 tons.
The alliance with Chen Hsong expands CenterLine's business into primary plastics machinery. The company imports both Sytrama-brand robots and Pioneer robots from Italy. In 1995, CenterLine started rebuilding used robots as well.
CenterLine now operates in a 7,000-square-foot facility in Fitchburg. Robson said the firm wants to move into a building with about 15,000 square feet of space. He is looking for an existing building, or a site for new construction, in the Fitchburg area.
