BRUSSELS, BELGIUM — Neil Mayne, Montell Polyolefins vice president for technology business support, was named head of the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Europe's technical and environmental center in Brussels.
He succeeds Fred Mader, who retired in December after 30 years in the chemical industry.
Mayne, 52, has more than 30 years of experience in the plastics and petrochemical industries. From 1968-95 he worked for Shell Chemical Co. in various positions and was deputy director for plastics and elastomers at Shell's chemical research center at Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
Mayne integrated the Himont/Shell development activities in Europe when Shell and Montedison formed the Montell Polyolefins joint venture in 1995.
