GARDENA, CALIF. — Compass Plastics & Technologies Inc. has completed its previously reported, $17.4 million purchase of MOS Plastics Inc.
Gardena-based Compass reported profit of $2.1 million and sales of $44 million for the fiscal year ended Oct. 26. Before the MOS purchase, it employed nearly 450 at facilities in Gardena and Tijuana, Mexico. Compass' AB Plastics Corp. unit makes and assembles custom injection molded components for computer and television monitors.
Injection molder MOS of San Jose, Calif., recorded 1997 sales of more than $18 million, employs 150 and operates 38 presses in a 60,000-square-foot plant.
