Two plastics-related events — a Michigan town hall meeting and a New York/New Jersey exposition — are scheduled for April.
Chrysler Corp.'s polyester Composite Concept Vehicle will be featured at the Technology and Plastics Town Hall meeting April 24 at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
Executives from Cascade Engineering Inc. in Grand Rapids, Mich., will describe how the firm developed the all-plastic-body car.
The meeting also will address the future of plastics, its applications and the virtual college being planned for the plastics industry. Experts will provide information on careers in plastics and industry technology.
The meeting is sponsored by Central Michigan University, the Michigan Jobs Commission and the Michigan Plastics Industry Roundtable. For registration information, contact the Michigan Jobs Commission's customer assistance office at (517) 373-9808.
Sixty-seven firms plan to exhibit at the second New Jersey/New York Metropolitan Plastics Exposition April 2 in Mountainside, N.J.
The event is sponsored by Newark and New York sections of the Society of the Plastics Engineers, SPI and the American Plastics Council. It will be held at the L'Affaire Ballroom Restaurant from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with workshops from 3 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
The event is designed as a trade show and a chance to tout the industry to local politicians.
