AKRON, OHIO — There's been a changing of the guard at Advanced Elastomer Systems LP of Akron, as Graham Wildsmith has replaced the retired Roger F. Sellew as president and chief executive officer.
Sellew, who had led AES since its formation in 1991, retired April 1.
Wildsmith joins AES from Solutia Inc. of St. Louis. AES, which produces engineered thermoplastic elastomers, is a limited partnership between Solutia and Exxon Chemical Corp. of Houston.
Wildsmith is a 28-year veteran of Solutia and its former parent company, Monsanto Co.
``Graham brings extensive international management and success in defining and implementing collaborative alliances,'' said John C. Hunter III, chairman of the AES board of directors. ``His demonstrated expertise in these areas is integral to AES' achieving its aggressive growth targets.''
AES posted sales of more than $250 million in 1997.
