BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA—Argenpl s 98 drew 413 exhibitors from 27 countries. Organizers said the April 2-8 show in Buenos Aires featured 239 machinery firms, 80 processors, 57 raw material producers and 37 service providers.
Final attendance figures were not available at press time.
Some show exhibitors said they were surprised with the results achieved during the event, especially compared with the last Argenpl s, held in 1996.
``In early 1996, the entire country was undergoing a difficult economic crisis, so practically every visitor at the fair was only there to look around,'' said Fernando Soto, a sales executive at Fluidmec SAIC.
``This time, company representatives were truly quoting products, asking lots of questions about specs and payment terms.''
