GLADWIN, MICH. — Thermoformer Futura Inc. opened a second facility in April to handle secondary operations for customers in central and southern Michigan.
Futura is leasing a 20,000-square-foot building in Gladwin, where it does assembly and other operations for customers such as auto companies and producers of durable medical goods. Sales and marketing director Dennis Schramm said his firm also uses the new facility for storage.
The Gladwin operation, combined with a trucking service between that site and Futura's head office plant in Euclid, Ohio, will help the company meet just-in-time delivery requirements, Futura President Robert Whiteside said in a news release.
Schramm said in an interview that Futura eventually might buy thermoforming machinery for Gladwin or relocate some equipment from Euclid.
