Herbold densifiers process scrap in-line
New Herbold Inc. has introduced a new continuous densifier for turning scrap plastic back into usable granulate.
The Type PC 500 and 700 densifiers can process scrap fibers, film, shavings and foam. The units are different because they work in-line, unlike the more-conventional batch-process type of densifiers, according to the Sutton, Mass., equipment maker.
The complete system includes a buffer silo and a special crammer-type feed screw. The whole machine sits on rails, enabling the operator to move it away easily to reach the densifying compression disks.
