QuesTech Packaging soon will become an independent company, pending the sale of its parent, QuesTech Inc.
Newport News, Va.-based QuesTech Packaging makes containers using a scrapless, melt-phase thermoforming process. The firm also specializes in thin-wall, deep-draw liners for baby bottles.
QuesTech Inc. of Falls Church, Va., announced May 19 it will be bought by CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va. The $42 million deal calls for QuesTech to dispose of the packaging subsidiary. CACI and QuesTech Inc. deal in information and technological services.
QuesTech President Vincent Salvatori said the firm is looking for investors before the deal closes.
Randy Wright, general manager, said the subsidiary is going to stay in Newport News, but will expand.
``We plan on adding a 50,000- to 100,000-square-foot expansion onto our facility,'' Wright said. ``We are also in the process of hiring more employees on the production end of things to help out with lines and new products.''
