PAWCATUCK, CONN. — Hi-Tech Profiles Inc. just spent $750,000 to add two new extrusion lines to its facility in Pawcatuck.
Mark Ouellette, vice president of development, said Hi-Tech had a successful year, with 1997 sales of $3.8 million. He said the company decided to invest in the 31/2inch and multilayer tubing extrusion lines to advance further.
The firm has seven lines, with space to add one more. Hi-Tech uses nylon, acetal and thermoplastic elastomers to make pipe and tubing for the food, lawn and garden, refrigeration, aerospace and marine industries.
``We have about four people working each line in four different shifts,'' Ouellette said. ``We already hired four employees to work on the new lines.''
