COON RAPIDS, MINN. — Custom thermoformer Allied Plastics Inc. acquired Glynco Plastics Inc., a Minnetonka, Minn., custom fabricator and screen printer.
``Glynco brings a second account base to us; there are no overlaps,'' said Scott LaRue, a senior management official at Allied. ``They give us capability we don't currently have and they increase our capacity in all areas.''
Glynco has served retailers for 30 years with point-of-purchase displays, merchandising materials and industrial products. The firm brings screen printing to Allied as well as expertise in acrylic fabricating. The firm also operates one thermoforming line.
Glynco's equipment and its 30 workers will move to Allied's headquarters facility in Coon Rapids by Sept. 13, LaRue said.
Allied operates several thermoforming lines, mainly for POP display and custom signage markets.
Terms of the transaction and Glynco's annual sales were not disclosed.
Allied had sales of more than $13 million last year and is a subsidiary of Frandsen Corp. of Forest Lake, Minn.
