Hexcel Corp. and Ciba Specialty Chemicals Inc. announced separate but related senior management changes, each effective July 15.
Hexcel named Harold E. Kinne to fill a vacancy as president, chief operating officer and a director. Kinne will direct all global operations for Stamford, Conn.-based Hexcel, an advanced structural materials supplier.
Kinne, 58, has been with Ciba and predecessor firms for 33 years, currently as president in the United States for the additives division. Basel, Switzerland-based Ciba, which owns 48.9 percent of Hexcel, makes materials that provide color, performance and care for plastics, coatings, fibers and fabrics.
Ciba named James Usilton, 52, to succeed Kinne as president of the U.S. additives division. He also will be a member of the global additives management team and head of Ciba's North American Free Trade Agreement team.
Usilton, who joined Ciba in 1975, is president of Ciba's performance polymers division in North America and head of the Americas business area. Now, Edward Bozzi will take both roles. Bozzi heads Ciba's global coatings business.
Separately, Hexcel promoted Stephen Forsyth, 43, to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Forsyth joined Hexcel in 1980 and has been senior vice president for finance and administration and CFO since 1996.
