STE. MARIE DE BEAUCE, QUEBEC — Canada's Maax Inc. plans to make another acquisition in plastic bathware manufacturing.
The Ste. Marie de Beauce firm said it has agreed in principle to buy Savannah Spa Manufacturing of Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Maax estimates that Savannah's sales will exceed C$6 million (US$4 million) for 1999. Terms of the purchase, due to close Oct. 15, were not disclosed.
Marie-France Poulin, Maax vice president of sales and marketing, said Savannah will bring new glass-fiber-composites technology to Maax while complementing Maax's existing acrylic/fiberglass spa business.
Savannah President James Moore will continue to manage the business after the takeover, Maax said in a July 20 news release. He is sole owner.
