SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIF. — Composite Materials Inc. has upgraded operations, capacity and efficiency at a refurbished facility in Southern California.
The fiberglass and advanced composite material distributor moved about five miles to a larger building from its 26-year home of about 45,000 square feet.
Both locations are in Santa Fe Springs.
Offices occupy 11,100 square feet. Warehousing uses 65,800 square feet. About one-fourth of that space is for resin; the rest is for catalysts and a hazardous Class 2 area for gel-coat tinting, mixing and promoting vinyl ester resins.
Composite Materials employs more than 200, with about 62 in Santa Fe Springs. It moved into the leased site Feb. 1.
The firm has 15 sites across the United States and in western Canada, distributing thermoset resins; glass, carbon and aramid reinforcements; and fillers and all accessories.
