Med/Waste acquires assets from Biomade
MIAMI LAKES, FLA. — Med/Waste Inc. has purchased certain assets of Biomade Plastics Inc. of Doylestown, Pa.
Med/Waste acquired license agreements and molds, from which it will manufacture reusable sharps containers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
``The reusable sharps containers business is a natural progression of our core operations,'' Dan Stauber, president and chief executive officer of Miami Lakes-based Med/Waste, said in a news release.
``Our plan is to continue to expand this business into our existing locations as well as throughout the United States.''
Publicly held Med/Waste provides disposal, incinerator and autoclave services for medical and special waste, and claims to serve more than 20,000 health-care facilities in the eastern United States.
Ironclad relocating headquarters to La.
SHREVEPORT, LA. — Plastic bag producer Ironclad Co. plans to move its headquarters from Tustin, Calif., to Shreveport.
The company qualifies for $325,000 in state tax breaks for the relocation.
Ironclad has production plants in Shreveport and in Tustin. The privately held company mainly makes bags for consumer markets.
