LE TRAIT, FRANCE — DuPont has launched its first Clysar polyethylene shrink film production in Europe with the opening of DuPont Packaging France SA's Clysar linear low density PE line at Le Trait.
Until now, DuPont has manufactured the LLDPE film exclusively in Clinton, Iowa. The Le Trait facility, run by Cedel Co. until its acquisition in 1989 by DuPont, has been manufacturing only Clysar polypropylene film.
The $15 million expansion project, which doubles Le Trait's Clysar capacity, is designed to give global film customers a continuous supply in Europe, according to the Wilmington, Del., company.
The project involved installing new extrusion and finishing equipment, including cross-linking capacity.
Clysar shrink wrap is used in a variety of packaging applications including food and toys.
