PERSTORP, SWEDEN — Perstorp AB has reached a preliminary agreement to exchange two thermoset product lines with German compound manufacturer Raschig GmbH.
Under the agreement, Perstorp will acquire Raschig's phenolic resin business while Raschig of Ludwigshafen will take over Perstorp Chemitec's phenolic molding compound business, including its production plant at Bezons, France, according to Perstorp.
The Swedish company, based in Perstorp, has agreed to retain a 30 percent minority stake in its former molding compound business. Perstorp already has three phenolic resin plants in Europe.
Raschig's phenolic resin operations have annual sales of about 70 million French francs ($11.7 million) and the Chemitec phenolic molding compound has sales of about FFr 130 million ($21.7 million).
