WINDSOR, CONN. — Noel Olivieri died in May, but his name will live on. A Connecticut advertising and marketing firm, Heagney & Ryan LLC, has purchased Olivieri Communication Inc. and renamed it.
Both firms are small. Heagney & Ryan of Farmington, Conn., has five employees. Windsor-based Olivieri Communication employs four. It will operate as Olivieri Communication, a division of Heagney & Ryan.
Olivieri, who founded his firm in 1976, died May 8 after a fight with brain cancer. He was 49. Olivieri focused on the plastics and packaging industries.
John Heagney, principal of Heagney & Ryan, said his firm specializes in manufacturing and machinery, but did not have any plastics clients before picking up Olivieri Communication. The company will continue to run both offices, in Windsor and Farmington. Heagney & Ryan will retain all the Olivieri Communication employees, he said.
One employee who is staying is Karla Larsen, director of client services, who has been with the firm for 12 years.
``They're very respectful of the name and our credibility in the industry,'' she said of the new owners.
