LONDON — Rexam plc plans to jettison more noncore businesses in printing, building components and industrial packaging sectors.
The sectors include subsidiaries that manufacture plastic drums, intermediate bulk containers and extruded window and door profiles. Those businesses have sales totaling £300 million ($501 million ), according to London-based Rexam.
At the same time, Rexam wants to acquire new businesses in its core areas of beauty, health care and specialty food packaging, said Chairman Jeremy Lancaster.
Chief Executive Officer Rolf Borjesson would not provide details about the operations that will be sold, nor what deadline is being set for their disposal.
Borjesson added that Rexam has been unsuccessful in its search for a major acquisition candidate.
