GLADWIN, MICH. — Fresh off one expansion, thermoforming machine builder Custom Manufacturers Inc. is planning to add 8,000 square feet of space to its plant in Gladwin.
``We're hoping to begin early this fall,'' owner Don Aldrich said.
Aldrich bought the machinery company in 1992, and has doubled its work force to 23 people in the past three years. The firm also has boosted plant space to 21,000 square feet in that time.
Aldrich said CMI will generate about $3 million in sales this year. It makes rotary, cut-sheet and continuous roll-fed thermoformers and trimming equipment.
