MCHENRY, ILL. — Clariant Masterbatches Division is installing a multilayer blow molding line at its McHenry compounding facility.
The line, when in operation by early October, will help Clariant develop special-effect formulas for bottles made of polyolefins, PET and PVC. The Easton, Md., firm said the line will help customers cut costs by eliminating trials on production equipment.
B&W, a Berlin, Germany, subsidiary of Johnson Controls Inc., supplied the blow molder customized for Clariant's work. It is a three-layer system with a Willi Mueller coextruder and a Moog BC parison programmer.
