ANN ARBOR, MICH. — The public has until Nov. 10 to comment on revisions to the American National Standards Institute's 1992 robot safety standards.
``The goal of the committee was to revise the standard to make it more informative, more usable and provide for safer robot installations,'' said Roberta Nelson, who chairs the R15.06 subcommittee on safety.
ANSI officials presented a draft document at several industry conferences. They tested the standard using people operating the robots.
