EL PASO, TEXAS — Infinity Plastics Inc. of El Paso is adding injection molding capacity and warehouse space.
The firm ``is in an expansion mode,'' Gene Shukis, vice president of marketing and sales, said in a news release.
Infinity purchased five Cincinnati Milacron machines and auxiliary systems and is installing the equipment in its existing, 64,000-square-foot plant. The presses include one with a clamping force of 550 tons and two each of 440 and 220 tons.
``We are out of machine capacity with our existing 10 machines, and continuing customer demand requires the additional equipment,'' Shukis said.
Infinity has 10 Engel units with clamping forces of 300-1,500 tons.
The extra hardware pushed Infinity into leasing a nearby 30,000-square-foot warehouse for finished goods ``and to serve as a logistical platform for improved customer delivery service,'' Shukis said.
Infinity custom molds large parts for consumer electronics, household appliances and irrigation products. The firm had start-up sales of $4 million for the period from April to December 1997.
