DUSSELDORF, GERMANY — Ancillary equipment supplier Conair Europe Ltd. launched a new temperature controller at the K'98 show in Dusseldorf.
The TC-150 was developed to provide precise temperature control of molds for injection presses up to about 330 tons, calendering rolls and in extrusion processes, according to Uxbridge, England-based Conair Europe.
The new controller replaces Conair's Thermolator range of water and oil temperature-control equipment and offers switchable 3-, 6- or 9-kilowatt heating. The TC-150 provides cost-efficient temperature control to 302° F, and to 194° F for water, said the European subsidiary of Conair Group of Emsworth, Pa.
TC-150 also features Conair's EuroTrac 1 microprocessor control, allows accurate adherence to a set point, plus or minus about 34° F.
Other features include a submersible pump to eliminate seal leaks. If a leak develops, the pump can be switched to reverse, drawing air through the cracks so the mold operates without leaking, Conair said.
The firm also exhibited other equipment including its new MicroAutoWeigh miniature gravimetric blender, which can be mounted on the throat of processing machines to blend as many as four ingredients precisely.
The lightweight pneumatic blender is only 24 inches high with no mechanical augers or electric motors. The basic unit is a four-position, four-bin blender intended for manual loading of two major and two minor ingredients.
In addition, Conair Europe showed its Drying Monitor and a range of chilling and granulating systems.
