FREEPORT, PA. — Oberg Industries is recruiting a sales and marketing person to represent the firm in Guadalajara, Mexico.
``If the person helps us get sales to a certain volume, we may put in a distribution center,'' said John Maholtz, vice president of marketing, in a telephone interview. The company is based in Freeport.
``We can supply the border region now'' using metal and polymer processing and automated assembly resources at an Oberg division in Chandler, Ariz., Maholtz said. Oberg exhibited those activities and its tooling, plating and grinding capabilities in a booth at Mexitr¢nica.
Oberg Arizona has added two 165-ton Milacron presses and a 60-ton Engel since mid-1997 and has the injection molding operation in 35 percent of a 35,500-square-foot building that was acquired in 1996 and subsequently refurbished. The division has a range of 28-300 tons and is positioned to expand the molding operation into the remainder of the building.
