DUSSELDORF, GERMANY — R&D Tool and Engineering Group completed a 35,000-square-foot expansion in early 1998, and has plans for another building in 1999 to consolidate its operations.
Chief Executive Officer Rex Luchtel declined to give details of the expansion, but said the maker of one- and two-step PET preforms and blow molds is growing at about 20 percent a year. The company is looking at other expansion options, he said.
Luchtel was interviewed at the K'98 show in Dusseldorf, the first K show where the company has exhibited. The molder, based in Lees Summit, Mo., does about $40 million in sales a year.
