LOVELAND, OHIO—Mattec Corp. has bought the processing monitoring business of Epos Corp. for undisclosed terms.
Mattec bought the competing business and will merge it into its operations in Loveland. Effective Jan. 1, the firm will assume hardware and software manufacturing rights for the EPM-series Windows NT production and process monitoring system recently introduced by Epos of Auburn, Ala.
Mattec will sell the Windows NT-based EPM system and support existing customers. The firm will make the system compatible with its Unix-based ProHelp Millennium monitoring system.
Mattec President Mick Thiel said the combined capabilities will allow molders and extruders to improve productivity and reduce costs. The purchase expands Mattec's customer base into automotive, medical, personal care and household goods markets.
