ASSOCIATION OF HOME APPLIANCE MANUFACTURERS — Chicago-based AHAM named Joseph McGuire president. He succeeds Robert Holding, who served in that position since 1982. McGuire is director of legislative and regulatory affairs at AlliedSignal Inc.
CENTREX CAROLINA INC. — The Asheville, N.C., injection molder has formally changed its name to Centrex Precision Plastics, an Avail Co. R. Scott White, vice president and general manager of Centrex Carolina, has been named its executive vice president, with responsibilities for Pennsylvania and North Carolina operations.
CLARION PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIES INC. — William Beckman has been named chief executive officer of the Schaumburg, Ill.-based injection molder. He succeeds Edward Dobosz, who has been named vice president of business development of parent company Clarion Technologies Inc. Beckman had been chief financial officer of Johnson Controls International's Interior Division.
COMAR INC. — Tom Michaels was named vice president of operations for the Buena, N.J., plastic packaging components maker.
COOKSON PLASTIC MOLDING CORP. — Bruce Quay has been named president and chief operating officer of the Latham, N.Y., plastic-pallet manufacturer. He had been executive vice president of Cookson's three business units.
DENALI INC. — Richard Volk and Edward de Bohr have been named to the board of directors of the Houston-based provider of products and services for handling critical fluids. Volk has his own consulting practice, and de Bohr is president and chief executive officer of Denali.
EMPIRE OF CAROLINA — The Delray Beach, Fla.-based firm announced the resignation of Steve Geller as a member of its board of directors. He had been chairman from September 1994 to June 1997 and chief executive officer from September 1994 to May 1998. Geller will remain as a consultant to Empire of Carolina, which designs, develops, manufactures and markets plastic children's toys and golf products.
FABRI-KAL CORP. — The Kalamazoo, Mich.-based packaging manufacturer named David Clarke president. He had been a senior officer at Nova Chemical Inc.
FBK MEDICAL DEVICE TECHNOLOGIES — James Keith was named president of the Birmingham, Ala., custom tubing extruder. He had been vice president of sales and marketing at Raleigh, N.C., extruder Natvar Inc.
FORMULA PLASTICS INC. — Chris Mitchell joined the Ontario, Calif.-based custom injection molder as a tooling and project manager.
HOME PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL INC. — The Chicago-based housewares manufacturer named James Amtmann to the newly created position of president and general manager of its Tamor division. He had been president and chief executive officer of Zodiac North America. Stephen Brian, president and chief operating officer, has resigned to pursue other interests. He will not be replaced, but James Tennant, HPI's chairman and CEO, will assume his duties.
SIDLAW GROUP PLC — The Scottish flexible packaging group named Mike Stacey a nonexecutive director. Stacey had been chief executive of aerospace and electronics group Meggitt plc of Wimborne, England.
