WASHINGTON — The Washington-based Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. has announced Vincent Witherup's appointment as chairman of NPE 2000.
Witherup, vice president of Conair Group, based in Emsworth, Pa., was vice chairman of NPE 1997 and a committee chairman of NPE '94.
``Vince Witherup has a thorough understanding of the needs and expectations of visitors and exhibitors alike,'' SPI President Larry Thomas said in a news release. ``His leadership will help NPE 2000 meet or surpass its goals, including more exhibitors than at NPE 1997 and greater attendance, especially by overseas visitors.''
H. Gunther Hoyt, vice president of Pulaski, Va.-based Xaloy Inc., will serve as vice chairman of the triennial plastics exposition, to run June 19-23, 2000, at Chicago's McCormick Place.
Others who were selected to serve on the NPE 2000 executive committee include: David Hahn, president of Avilla, Ind.-based Autojectors Inc.; Edward McGrady, vice president of manufacturing for Davis-Standard Corp. in Pawcatuck, Conn.; Toby Royal, president of Royal Communications of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and Tim Stojka, president of Elmhurst, Ill.-based Fast Heat Inc.
