FITCHBURG, MASS. — Well-known historian Keith W. Lauer displayed a book he co-authored, Celluloid Collector's Reference and Value Guide, at the National Plastics Center & Museum booth at MassPlastics '99.
The 280-page, hardbound book, written by Lauer and Julie Robinson, is a collector's guide with more than 800 color photographs. It details the history and current values of many celluloid objects, including dolls, toys, advertising items and decorative boxes.
``Collecting takes time,'' said Lauer, who spent 10-15 years collecting objects for the book.
