GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. — Cascade Engineering Inc. received the Ron Brown Award for corporate leadership in employee and community relations.
The Grand Rapids-based firm won for its programs to help employees balance demands of work and family, to develop personally and be responsible citizens, and to increase awareness of domestic violence. Cascade also offers managerial and employee training and a community speaker series.
The award, funded by the private sector and administered by the Conference Board Inc. of New York, is named in honor of the late Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown.
Cascade was one of four winners from 61 company entries. Vice President Al Gore met the chief executives at a White House ceremony March 24.
